Welcome to the Minneymoor area and we hope you have settled into your new home.
The Friends of Minney Moor are a group of residents and more importantly friends who live in the area and we hope to get to know you in the near future. FOMM was set up in September 2006 to tackle the long neglect of the public spaces and to foster greater community spirit.
Our constitutional aim is to improve and maintain the area known as Minney Moor Field and adjacent environs and provide a clean and safe recreational area, to benefit all users and to encourage users to take ownership of the environment and to ensure that the local authority and any other statutory body fulfils their duties.
We were nominated for the Spirit of Doncaster Award in 2007 for the work that we have already undertaken. The Award is for groups showing dedication, efforts and unselfishness to others in this borough. We also received the Duke of York Community Initiative Award in 2010 for our work done to Kersley Brook and the immediate surrounding area after the 2007 floods.
We hold regular meetings in the Red Lion Public House on a monthly basis. Minneymoor is also part of the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme with issues being discussed as part of our monthly meeting.
We do hope you will join our ranks and enjoy all aspects of Minneymoor and the community spirit we aim to foster.
Hope to see you soon
