The group exists to enhance the park in as many ways as possible and to enable it to achieve Green Flag status which is important to ensure that it is well maintained as an asset of the community.
We meet to do various tasks in the park such as the raised beds, planting bulbs and litter picking! Bird counts are very important as migrating birds use the park for a quick stop, as well as our own resident birds. We have 2 meetings a year, which the Park’s Officer attends, to discuss our programme and also to give us an opportunity to discuss our concerns and to hear what the Council is planning.
Social events and talks to help the members to get to know each other and hear more about various topics. We have also developed the Tree Trail and the Childrens’ Trail and have had a photographic competition. We do a modest amount of fundraising and apply for grants to improve the Park and we have now held annual Play Ranger events which have been well attended and greatly appreciated.
We aim to encourage families in the area, to get more involved with the park and its future.

Membership costs £5 per household per year, renewable April 1st each year.
